White Glitter

20120926-125448 PM.jpg

As you know I love experimenting with nail colours, and I recently bought a gold glitter by Barry M.

However, when I used the glitter on a pale nail – the glitter wasn’t a solid look, and it looked almost patchy.

So, I looked around (mostly at Pinterest) and saw some great pastel shades teamed with a glitter top coat.

So, here is my take on this trend. Simple white varnish with a thin layer of gold glitter – I think it really makes the gold stand out!

What do you think? Have you been wearing glitter recently?

Let me know,

Outfit – Casual Day & Night

Below are a couple of outfits I wore recently – in the same day.

The first was for a casual shopping, lunch and drinks in the garden style day. The second was for date night, but in a relaxed, chilled restaurant.

Let me know what you think about the outfits, and what you’re wearing now the weather is getting a bit rubbish!

An up do with very little ‘up’

Hi! Sorry for not posting in a while!

I recently received quite a few compliments (thanks!) about a hair style I wore a few weeks back.

The look only uses hair slides/bobbie pins, and is really simple to do.

Section your hair into 2-4 inches (depending on the thickness of your hair, the size of your pins, and the look you’re going for – a more slick look will want smaller sections, but a larger, more voluminous look will require larger sections), back comb each individual section, then grip in place.

In the images below I’ve used contrasting hair slides so you can see how the look is put together – but accessorised hair slides look great for an updated evening style.

To secure the look, I either spritz with hair spray, or apply a small amount of serum or wax to any fly always.

If you have any questions about the look, please leave them in the comments box below.

Thanks for reading!

Outfit – Lost

Been driving round and round some random back roads in the middle of nowhere trying to find this weeks football pitch – finally here!

This week I’ve seen lots of great berry shades – deep reds and purples look fab with black. So, I’ve teamed a berry skater dress with leggings and black faux leather boots – and a FAB leopard print bowling bag, it is sooo useful – from New Look

My hair is really fickle, as soon as its a bit windy it goes wild. So…I’ve clipped my fringe back and sprayed hairspray onto a brush before I combed it through, to keep my hair relatively straight, and it’s worked so far!

I’m also testing some 10 day nail varnish from Bourjois – I’m writing another blog on that in a few days, I’ll let you know how it gets on then!

Let me know what you think, and what your wearing this weekend. Also, post links to your blogs in the comments below for me to check out πŸ™‚

Happy Saturday!

Outfit – September Sun

Allllll week everyone had been going on about how nice the weather was going to be this weekend, and (for once!) it actually turned out alright!

Knowing that I was going to be outside the majority of the day, I knew I needed to wear shorts underneath my outfit – so there was no embarrassing, Marilyn-esque situations.

The skirt is a recent buy from Miss Selfridge’s. It’s a jersey material skater skirt, with an elasticated waist. I originally saw it and thought that it could’ve been too clingy, or too short…but it’s actually nothing like that. I can wear it low on my hips, or high like in the images below. Another +, it was an absolute bargain.

The top is from New Look and came in sooo many different colours. I chose this because, not only is it a great red/purple shade, but berry is OTM this AW.

Trainers as before in previous outfit posts – white converse, which got a clean in the sea, too πŸ™‚

What do you think to my new ‘do, too? I had it cut to a long bob (a la Mollie King), with blonde highlights to lift the look.

Let me know what you think about this post, or anything else!

Do you use Instagram?

I was slightly sceptical about Instagram at first – I just couldn’t get my head around how successful it was…it’s just changing filters on pictures!

But how I’ve changed my mind!

I love how Instagram can take a seemingly boring and dull picture and make it so much more interesting – and pretty! It makes uploading pictures l my blog more appealing, and I totally love it now!

Outfit – Pre-Autumn

I am pretty indecisive at the best of times, but in the weird weather between the seasons it’s always so hard to decide what to wear!

I had to be outside most of today (being a wag…again!) so the sensible *yawn* option was layers. The jumper featured in my last outfit blog, and is great because it’s thin, but also is a great cover-up. The chinos were from Republic, and are actually navy blue, paired with leather boots – something I think will be BIG this season, especially with the military/tweed/equestrian tailoring trends.

The leather jacket is from Missguided online – something I’ve featured before.

Let me know what you think, and how you want to wear AW2012 trends!
